A comprehensive independent damp survey for properties where moisture is affecting several rooms, appears in multiple areas or cannot be reasonably understood from a single localised inspection.
Dampness affecting more than one part of a property can arise from several different mechanisms. A full property survey allows the building to be considered as a whole rather than treating each damp patch as an isolated problem.
The inspection considers the visible building fabric, external defects, internal moisture patterns, ventilation, ground levels, rainwater disposal, construction type and other relevant factors that may contribute to moisture entering or being retained within the building.
Where appropriate, surface and subsurface moisture readings are used alongside the physical evidence observed. These readings are interpreted in context and are not relied upon in isolation to diagnose the cause of dampness.
As an independent surveying consultancy, we do not carry out remedial building works or sell damp-proofing treatments. Our recommendations are therefore based on the condition of the property and the evidence available at the time of inspection.
