Focused investigation.
Clear professional advice.
A targeted independent damp survey for a specific room, wall or defined area where a full property survey is not considered necessary.
A localised damp survey is suitable where the concern is confined to a particular part of the property, such as one wall, one room or a clearly defined area of dampness.
The inspection considers the affected area together with the relevant adjoining building fabric and external conditions that may reasonably contribute to the moisture problem.
Where appropriate, surface and subsurface moisture readings are used alongside the visible evidence observed during the inspection. These readings are interpreted in context and are not relied upon in isolation to determine the cause of dampness.
The purpose of the survey is to establish, as far as reasonably possible from the agreed non-intrusive inspection, the likely cause or contributing mechanisms and to provide proportionate recommendations for repair, monitoring or further investigation where required.
As an independent surveying consultancy, we do not carry out remedial building works or sell damp-proofing treatments. Our advice is based solely on the evidence available and what we consider appropriate for the property.
Focused
inspection
Investigation of the specific room, wall or defined area of concern, together with relevant adjoining and external building elements where accessible.
Evidence-led
assessment
Moisture readings, visible defects, construction details and likely moisture pathways are considered together to help establish the probable cause of the problem.
Written
recommendations
A professional written report setting out the relevant observations, likely causes, limitations and recommended next steps for the localised area inspected.
Damp affecting a
specific room or wall?
Send us the property address together with a brief description or photographs of the affected area. We will review the enquiry and advise whether a localised survey is the most appropriate option.
