Professional inspection.
Clear advice without the report.
A professional damp assessment where the property is inspected and the findings, likely causes and recommended next steps are explained verbally rather than through a formal written report.
A verbal damp assessment is suitable where you want an experienced professional to inspect the property and help you understand what may be causing the dampness, but you do not require formal written documentation afterwards.
The inspection considers the visible building fabric, relevant external defects, internal moisture patterns, ventilation, ground levels, construction type and other factors that may reasonably contribute to the dampness being investigated.
Where appropriate, surface and subsurface moisture readings are used alongside the visible evidence observed. These readings are interpreted in context and are not relied upon in isolation to diagnose the cause of dampness.
Following the inspection, the observations, likely causes and recommended next steps are explained either while walking around the property with you or by telephone afterwards.
This service does not include a written report and is therefore most appropriate where formal documentation or third-party reliance is not required.
As an independent surveying consultancy, we do not carry out remedial works or sell damp-proofing treatments. Our advice is based on the evidence available and what we consider appropriate for the property.
