Understanding moisture in

Later cavity-wall homes, inter-war housing, extensions and modern alterations are assessed where different phases of construction may influence thermal and moisture performance.
Ground & External Levels
Paths, gardens, adjoining ground, hard landscaping and surface falls are assessed where their relationship with the building may contribute to moisture at lower wall or floor level.
Roofs & Chimneys
Roof coverings, ridges, chimney stacks, flashings, valleys and abutments are considered where deterioration or defective detailing may provide a pathway for rainfall.
Rainwater & Drainage
Gutters, downpipes, gullies, surface falls and discharge routes are assessed where rainfall may repeatedly wet masonry or accumulate close to the property.
